Jessica showed an awkward smile when Justin, her boyfriend, presented her with that beautiful and exotic jaguar-like cat.
-Is it a jaguar cub ? - Asked Jessica when holding the cat whose fur was identical to that of jaguars.
-This cat is from a breed called Bengal , they look like small jaguars. - Explained the boyfriend stroking the cat's head that purred in Jessica's arms. -I hope you like it , my love!
- Does it already have a name ? - Asked Jessica looking into the cat's sparkling eyes.
-Yes! He's called Belfegor ! - Justin said with a wide smile and the cat meowed afterwards as if responding to the pronounced name.

Jessica had adored the cat and had to urge her parents to let her stay with him, but there was a small problem: Jessica was allergic to cat hair .
But since Belfegor had been such an affectionate gift from her boyfriend, her parents accepted the animal, on the condition that it was raised outside the house.
Jessica soon saw that Belfegor was meek and always wanted to stay in her lap, she allowed this until her allergy attacked and she started to sneeze.
That night, after finishing her school lessons, young Jessica realized that Belfegor was nestled at her feet. She took the cat in her arms and took it outside.
Jessica went to the living room to watch TV, enjoyed watching Twiligh Zone at 9 pm.
Outside, rain started to fall. Lightning crackled in the skies, casting its ghostly lights on the glass in the living room window.
“ Ahhh !” - Screamed Jessica when the cat jumped on her lap. - Belfegor !! You can't scare your mom like that. You have your bed in the garage, come on, go to sleep and don't be afraid of the rain.
Jessica got up from the battered vinyl sofa and carried the cat on her lap to the garage where she had prepared a cozy bed in a cardboard box for the feline. She deposited it there and went back inside the house closing the door.
But again , after a few minutes, the cat burst through the darkness of the room and jumped on Jessica's lap. She started sneezing and returned the cat to it’s bed, making sure to close all the windows in the residence.
But again the scene was repeated. The cat found a way into the house. But where was it coming from ?
Jessica made sure that there was not even an open dump, it was then that, for the sixth time, she took Belfegor in the arms and when he was taking it out, the cat hissed and scratched.
- Hey ! - Jessica screamed and let go of the animal and then see the streaks of bright red blood run down her arm.
The father of Jessica appeared seconds later in the kitchen and asked, 'What the hell is going on here daughter ?
-The cat is entering the house, but I closed everything, I don’t know how it does it. - said Jessica.
-I knew that animal was a bad idea. - Jessica's father snarled and took his hand to catch the cat when it scratched him and ran out into the house.
The father raised his hand and stared at the scratches that made his blood flow greedily.
With an injured hand wrapped in paper towels, father and daughter searched the house for the animal, but found no sign of the cat.
-But how the hell did that cat leave the house ? - Asked Jessica's father confused. -Let's look outside.
When Jessica and her father went into the garage, they found Belfegor dead, which apparently indicated the animal had tried to climb into a window that would lead to the kitchen, but ended up dragging several boxes of tools that fell on him. Buried in the cat's back was a drill bit .
After moments of anguish and sadness, Jessica went to her room to try to sleep, but she knew she would have nightmares about the macabre vision of the dead cat. She felt guilty for not having it left to spend the night in the house, after all the storm had scared him .
Jessica lay down and pulled the comforter until it covered her head. Outside, the rain continued to fall. Thunder boomed in the distance. She felt her body as cold as ice.
- Uhhh ??? - Jessica felt something jump over her chest. Then she heard the purring and when, cautiously removing the comforter from her head, she stared, in the dimness of the room, at Belfegor sitting on it.
The feline's eyes flashed a hellish glow and he exhaled a ghostly meow that made her whole body shiver.
Jessica felt the chill of dread freeze the blood in her veins as she stared at the dead cat and could finally understand how that animal was entering the house even with closed doors and windows.
Poor Jessica, she had solved that mystery, but now she had a problem: how would she manage to make Belfegor stay outside the house?
Horror books that I recommend.
